Netanyahu Orders Israeli Military to Control 70% of Gaza, Defying Ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he ordered the military to take control of 70% of the Gaza Strip, a move that directly challenges the October 2025 ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces already control around 60% of the Palestinian territory, signaling a significant escalation in Israel’s military objectives.

The announcement has triggered renewed international concern, with diplomats and humanitarian agencies warning that further territorial expansion could worsen Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and derail fragile diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict.
