Pakistan Bangladesh First Direct Flight 14 Years Karachi Water Salute Historic

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG341 has completed its first direct Dhaka–Karachi service in 14 years, marking the restoration of air connectivity between the two cities.

The aircraft landed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at 11:03pm, where it received a traditional water cannon salute. The Pakistan Airports Authority described the flight as the beginning of a “new chapter” in bilateral relations.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also welcomed the development and said cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh would expand across multiple sectors.

With the Dhaka–Karachi route now reopened, officials expect passenger traffic to rise and regional aviation links to strengthen, supporting trade, economic partnerships, and wider South Asian connectivity.
