Muslim pilgrims in Saudi Arabia were seen performing the symbolic “stoning of the devil” ritual during Hajj, one of the most important rites of the Islamic pilgrimage. The ritual, known as “Ramy al-Jamarat,” involves pilgrims throwing small pebbles at three stone pillars in Mina, symbolizing the rejection of evil and temptation.
Saudi authorities have introduced extensive crowd management, cooling systems, shaded walkways, and medical support measures to ensure pilgrim safety during the ritual, especially amid extreme summer temperatures.
