Kanad Hospital, the first institution to provide modern healthcare in Abu Dhabi emirate, has celebrated its 65th anniversary in Al Ain. The milestone event was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting the hospital’s historic contribution to UAE healthcare.
Established in 1960 in a mud-brick guesthouse donated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Kanad Hospital grew from a small clinic into one of the UAE’s most respected medical institutions.
For decades, the hospital has played a pioneering role in maternal, pediatric, and community healthcare, helping shape the medical future of Al Ain and the wider UAE.
