A shopping centre in General Santos City, including a Jollibee restaurant, partially collapsed after a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. The strong quake triggered panic among residents as buildings shook across the region.

Emergency teams rushed to assess structural damage and ensure public safety. Authorities continue monitoring the situation while evaluating the impact on infrastructure and nearby communities. The Philippines sits along the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries.
