SpaceX’s Starship Ship 40 survives a remarkable ocean journey SpaceX has released new footage and images of Starship Ship 40 floating off Christmas Island after an extraordinary recovery operation in the Indian Ocean.
The 52-metre spacecraft survived its controlled splashdown following Starship Flight 13 and spent around 24 days at sea before SpaceX’s recovery team guided it into calmer waters near the Australian territory. Engineers are now preparing to inspect the spacecraft and study how its heat shield, engines and structure performed during re-entry and landing.
