Turkey Unveils 6000 KM Range “Yildirimhan” Missile at Istanbul Defence Expo

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Turkey has introduced a new long-range missile called “Yildirimhan” during a major defence exhibition in Istanbul, drawing global attention to the country’s expanding military technology ambitions.

According to Turkish officials, the missile reportedly has a range of up to 6,000 KM, potentially placing parts of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia within reach — including parts of India.

However, there has been no official statement suggesting any direct threat toward India. The unveiling comes as Turkey continues investing heavily in defence manufacturing, missile systems, drones, and advanced military technology amid rising geopolitical and regional tensions.

Analysts say the project reflects Ankara’s growing focus on strategic deterrence and defence independence. The announcement has sparked discussions internationally over regional security dynamics and the future balance of military power in the region.
