A tragic explosion at a fuel storage and biodiesel production facility in Mersin, Türkiye, has left one worker dead and two others injured. Reports say the blast occurred in a fuel tank at the Aves Energy Filling Facilities in Kazanlı, Akdeniz district, before a major fire spread through the site.
Emergency crews, including firefighters, AFAD teams and police water-cannon vehicles, were sent to the area as thick smoke rose from the facility. Officials said the fire was later brought under control using foam suppression, while cooling operations continued as a safety precaution. The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.
