US-Iran Tensions Escalate as Strait of Hormuz Becomes Global Flashpoint

A major US-Iran confrontation is raising fresh fears across the Gulf, with the Strait of Hormuz once again becoming a global flashpoint. American forces have launched new strikes on targets in southern Iran, including key coastal and port areas, while Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks toward US-linked interests in the region.

Kuwait says its air defences intercepted 32 hostile drones as Gulf nations remain on high alert. With one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes under threat, global markets and regional governments are now watching closely for the next move.
