Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated once again after Washington launched new strikes on Iranian targets following the downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. According to U.S. officials, the helicopter was brought down during a patrol mission in the strategic waterway, though both crew members were safely rescued.
President Donald Trump vowed a response, and U.S. forces later carried out what officials described as "proportional" strikes targeting Iranian air-defense and radar systems. Iran has warned of further retaliation, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict and the security of one of the world's most important oil-shipping routes.
The latest escalation has put global markets, energy supplies, and maritime security on high alert as diplomatic efforts continue amid rising military tensions.
