Xi Jinping Welcomes Putin In Beijing As China-Russia Partnership Grows

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing with an official ceremony as both leaders praised the strength of China-Russia relations. The talks come shortly after Donald Trump’s China visit, putting Beijing at the center of major global diplomacy.

During the meeting, Xi and Putin spoke about strengthening their “comprehensive strategic partnership,” with energy, trade, technology and wider geopolitical cooperation expected to remain key areas of discussion. Reports also say the two sides signed multiple cooperation agreements and highlighted their shared push for a multipolar world order.
