She emphasized the deep and long-standing friendship between the two nations, which continues to grow stronger through active cooperation in various sectors, including diplomacy, trade, culture, and innovation.

Celebrating a New Chapter in Luxembourg’s Leadership

Her remarks came during a reception organized by the Embassy of Luxembourg in Abu Dhabi to mark the accession of Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie to the throne of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The event symbolized a new chapter in Luxembourg’s history as Prince Guillaume succeeded his father, Grand Duke Henri. The reception served as an opportunity to celebrate this significant transition while reaffirming Luxembourg’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening ties with the UAE.

Praise for UAE Leadership and Vision

Marie-Anne Marx expressed deep appreciation for the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She noted that the UAE’s forward-looking vision, global cooperation policies, and dedication to peace and development have inspired international respect. Marx highlighted that both nations’ leadership share a mutual commitment to advancing cooperation that benefits their peoples and contributes to international stability and prosperity.

A Reception Marked by Diplomacy and Friendship

The celebration was attended by Omar Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director of the European Affairs Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as several officials, members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Luxembourg community in the UAE. The gathering reflected the warmth and strength of the UAE-Luxembourg relationship, showcasing shared values of friendship, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations Across Fields

In her address, Marx pointed out that UAE-Luxembourg relations are not limited to diplomacy but extend to economic, cultural, and technological fields. She emphasized that both countries have successfully built a dynamic partnership that aligns with their mutual aspirations for innovation and sustainable development. She also praised the UAE’s role as a regional hub for business and its efforts to promote peace and tolerance globally.

Commitment to Shared Growth and Prosperity

Marie-Anne Marx stressed that the two nations have continuously worked to develop bilateral cooperation in a way that serves their shared goals. In recent years, UAE and Luxembourg have collaborated on initiatives in finance, renewable energy, space technology, and education. She stated that these partnerships represent the two countries’ joint belief in the importance of innovation, sustainability, and human development as pillars of national progress.

Cultural and People-to-People Connections

Beyond politics and economics, Marx highlighted the importance of cultural exchange between the UAE and Luxembourg. She mentioned that such engagement fosters greater understanding and friendship between their peoples. The embassy continues to support cultural initiatives and educational collaborations that bring the two nations closer, promoting dialogue and appreciation of each other’s traditions.

Diplomatic Presence Reflects Mutual Respect

The presence of UAE officials and foreign diplomats at the reception demonstrated the respect and recognition Luxembourg enjoys within the UAE diplomatic community. The event served as a reminder of the importance of diplomacy in connecting nations and building bridges of understanding. Guests expressed their appreciation for Luxembourg’s contributions to international cooperation and its ongoing partnership with the UAE.

As Prince Guillaume begins his reign, Luxembourg looks forward to further expanding its partnership with the UAE. Both sides are eager to explore new areas of collaboration, particularly in sustainable investment, digital transformation, and global diplomacy. Marx reiterated her government’s confidence that the strong friendship between the UAE and Luxembourg will continue to flourish under the guidance of both nations’ leadership.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Vision
