UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Visits Cyprus for Official Ceremony

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, arrived at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, Cyprus, for an official state visit, where he was received by the President of Cyprus, His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides. The visit began with a formal reception ceremony, including the playing of national anthems of both countries and a thorough inspection of the honour guard, symbolising the strong diplomatic relations between the UAE and Cyprus.

During the official ceremony, Sheikh Mohamed laid a wreath at the memorial of Archbishop Makarios III, the founding President of Cyprus. This gesture highlighted the UAE’s respect for the nation’s history and its commitment to strengthening ties with Cyprus. The UAE President also greeted ministers and senior officials, creating opportunities for discussions on further collaboration between the two cuntries.

President Christodoulides warmly welcomed the UAE delegation, which included His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and other senior UAE ministers and officials. The meeting allowed for high-level exchanges on diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation, with both sides emphasizing mutual support and partnership.

The visit reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to build stronger regional and international relations, showcasing a commitment to shared values, economic development, and cultural exchange. It also reinforced Cyprus’s role as a key partner for the UAE in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Through this diplomatic engagement, both countries aim to enhance bilateral relations, explore new areas of cooperation, and strengthen collaboration across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, and education.
