Sheikh Nahyan Attends Malta National Day Event in UAE

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended a reception hosted by Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of Malta to the UAE, marking Malta’s National Day. The event highlighted the strong diplomatic and cultural ties between the UAE and Malta.

Ambassador Highlights UAE-Malta Relations

In her address, Ambassador Camilleri praised the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She emphasized the longstanding friendship and partnership between the UAE and Malta, noting the UAE’s role as Malta’s leading trading partner in the region.

Commitment to Expanding Cooperation

The ambassador affirmed Malta’s dedication to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors. She highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance economic, cultural, and social collaboration, underlining the shared vision of both countries to foster mutual growth and development.

Presence of Maltese and UAE Officials

The reception was attended by Dr. Michael Falzon, Malta’s Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights, Omar Al Neyadi, Director of European Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of the UAE–Malta Parliamentary Friendship Group. Senior UAE officials and business leaders were also present.

Engagement with Diplomatic and Business Community

Heads of diplomatic missions, business leaders, and members of the Maltese community in the UAE joined the celebrations. The gathering offered an opportunity to discuss bilateral initiatives, enhance partnerships, and celebrate the shared values of tolerance and coexistence.

Strengthening Cultural and Social Ties

The event underscored the importance of cultural exchange and people-to-people connections. Both nations committed to supporting programs that promote education, social development, and community engagement between their citizens.

Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s dedication to fostering global partnerships based on cooperation and mutual respect. The reception reflected a continued commitment to deepening diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations between the UAE and Malta.
