Murder Suspect Revisited Geylang Crime Scene

Post by : Shakul

In Singapore, law enforcement has returned a 48-year-old murder suspect to the Geylang crime scene as investigations into a deadly stabbing advance. The suspect, identified as Ong Hou Cheong, faces charges related to the death of a 70-year-old man.

The deceased, Chow Ling Fei, sustained severe stab wounds to the chest during a confrontation and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on March 9. Authorities responded to a report of a fight at Lorong 16 Geylang around 8:15 am that morning.

Reports indicate that the two individuals were acquainted, although the specifics of their relationship remain undisclosed. Following the incident, the suspect was alert and was charged with murder the subsequent day.

On April 3, police escorted Ong back to the scene as part of their investigation efforts. This reconstruction occurred at approximately 9:15 am in a private parking area near the Shanyuan Ancient Buddhist Lodge, where key evidence was previously gathered.

During the exercise, Ong was seen wearing a red polo and black shorts, with his hands and feet secured. Witnesses noted he appeared expressionless but occasionally made gestures in response to investigators' questions.

Lasting around 20 minutes, the session involved officers guiding the suspect through areas of particular interest in the case. Evidence markers were visible on the site, denoting regions of forensic relevance.

Approximately 20 onlookers gathered at a distance to observe the proceedings. Police maintained control of the scene to ensure the reconstruction was conducted smoothly.

Authorities have assured that inquiries are ongoing, as they seek to clarify the events leading to the fatal stabbing. More details are anticipated as the case moves forward in the judicial system.
