Simple Strategies to Prevent Weight Gain Before New Year

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

With the year drawing to a close, many individuals begin to fret about potential weight gain. Festivities, gatherings, and chilly weather typically lead to overeating and decreased activity levels. Instead of intending to shed substantial pounds in a rushed manner, professionals suggest it’s wiser to concentrate on preventing additional weight gain. This manageable goal is healthier for many.

Fitness expert Raj Ganpath shared insightful tips on his Instagram. He emphasized that the remaining weeks of the year are an opportune time to prioritize your health. His key message is clear: “Keep from gaining any weight until the year's end.” This principle can set you up for a more confident and less stressful start to the new year.

Raj clarified that there’s no need for drastic diets or intense workout routines at this stage. Instead, he recommends sticking to five straightforward actions that can seamlessly blend into daily life and yield significant results.

1. Work Out at Least 20 Times
The coach advises getting at least 20 workouts in before the year concludes. This equates to roughly three to four sessions weekly. Choose any enjoyable activities—walking, yoga, stretching, dancing, home exercises, or gym sessions. The focus is on consistent physical activity.

According to him, a span of six weeks is sufficient to cultivate a habit. Even brief workouts can help burn calories, alleviate stress, and maintain physical strength.

2. Incorporate Protein in Every Meal
Protein promotes prolonged satiety, bolsters muscle strength, and lessens cravings. Introduce foods such as eggs, paneer, chicken, lentils, tofu, yogurt, and nuts into your meals. Including protein in every dish makes it easier to stave off overeating.

3. Increase Vegetable Intake
Vegetables are low-calorie, high-fiber foods that keep you full without adding unwanted weight. The coach recommends filling half your plate with veggies, an effective way to manage portion sizes and enhance digestion.

4. Limit Unhealthy Foods
Celebrations at year's end often feature fried treats, desserts, and junk food. Raj Ganpath suggests minimizing these items as much as possible. While it’s not necessary to eliminate them entirely, reducing intake helps shield you from weight gain and sugar fluctuations.

5. Be Mindful and Monitor Your Habits
He also encourages being attentive to your eating patterns and level of physical activity. Keeping a record of your habits or weighing yourself weekly can assist in staying accountable.

These five habits are straightforward to maintain and don’t involve strict dieting. They facilitate balance amidst the busiest and most tempting time of the year.

The fitness coach asserts that wrapping up the year on a strong note makes it far easier to leap into the next with a positive outlook. If you reach January without gaining excess weight, you'll be liberated from guilt and pressure associated with starting challenging diets.
