A vehicle pursuit involving agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Newark, New Jersey on February 25 ended in a multi-vehicle crash that left four people hospitalized, including three minors.
Mayor Ras Baraka confirmed that two 15-year-olds and a 12-year-old are currently receiving treatment. He criticized federal authorities, saying they should follow local vehicle pursuit laws and exercise common sense.
The incident occurred when ICE agents attempted to stop a vehicle, which fled and caused a crash involving several cars. The mayor emphasized that such pursuits in populated areas can be dangerous and called for stricter adherence to local rules.
