An Israeli Defence Forces helicopter crashed near Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem, during a heavy-lift air recovery operation, in a dramatic military aviation incident highlighting the challenges of complex aerial handling procedures.

According to reports, the helicopter was being transported by air when the incident occurred, resulting in the aircraft going down in the strategically sensitive Judean hills region. The area is known for its difficult terrain and operational importance, adding to the complexity of such missions.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the crash site following the incident, which took place south of the capital. The crash underscores the operational risks involved in military aviation activities carried out amid ongoing security missions by the Israeli Defence Forces.
