To bolster food security and ensure steady market conditions, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) and the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA), recently visited the Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society (ADCOOP). This initiative was executed alongside Silal Group.
The delegation, composed of high-ranking officials and industry experts, assessed current efforts aimed at fortifying the emirate’s food supply chains and ensuring the ongoing availability of vital goods. This visit plays a key role in Abu Dhabi’s comprehensive strategy focused on preserving strategic reserves and reinforcing resilience in the food sector.
During their inspection, officials evaluated storage, distribution, and operational efficiencies to ensure compliance with high standards of quality and food safety. A thorough review of the product lifecycle was also undertaken to verify adherence to regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
Discussions underscored the necessity of robust collaboration between governmental bodies and private sector stakeholders. Authorities highlighted the significance of the UAE’s state-of-the-art infrastructure in facilitating efficient supply chain operations and ensuring a steady flow of goods.
The visit also aimed to uphold market transparency and price stability by monitoring and deterring unjustified pricing practices. Officials noted that such measures are crucial for protecting consumer interests, fostering trust, and maintaining balanced market conditions.
In summary, this initiative underscores Abu Dhabi’s unwavering commitment to strengthening food security, enhancing market preparedness, and guaranteeing sustainable access to essential goods at all times.
