Abu Dhabi Introduces New Community Responder App

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant development, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, in partnership with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, has unveiled the Community Responder app on leading app platforms. This marks a pivotal achievement within the second phase of the “Our Community is Ready” initiative.

The app launch plays a vital role in establishing a dedicated volunteer framework designed to boost community readiness and optimize emergency response efforts. This initiative syncs with a broader strategy aimed at preserving lives and safeguarding properties throughout the emirate.

This application is a key outcome of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation and Volunteering, crafted through strategic alliances with essential organizations, including the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, and the Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme. It showcases ongoing collaboration with the “We Are All Police” initiative, highlighting unified governmental actions directed towards developing a robust volunteer network.

As an innovative digital tool, the Community Responder app allows volunteers to undergo certified training, arming them with critical skills required to assist during crises. This advancement ensures quicker response times, enhanced collaboration with authorities, and more efficient management of emergency situations.

Officials underscored that this initiative represents Abu Dhabi’s forward-thinking vision to empower its citizens while fostering a culture of prevention and collective responsibility. Community members are encouraged to join the platform and take an active role in reinforcing safety and security across the emirate.

This initiative further emphasizes the significance of volunteerism as a fundamental aspect of Abu Dhabi’s community ethos, contributing to a resilient and well-prepared society.
