Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Secures AHA Stroke Training Accreditation

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Secures AHA Stroke Training Accreditation

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has reached a pivotal achievement by securing accreditation for the Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) program from the American Heart Association (AHA). In addition, the authority has renewed its designation as an AHA-authorized training center, underlining its commitment to maintaining high international healthcare standards.

This accreditation signifies a tremendous advancement in refining Abu Dhabi's emergency medical response system. The ASLS program aims to enhance immediate and precise stroke evaluations, bolster clinical judgement, and facilitate early medical actions grounded in evidence-based methods. These improvements are anticipated to notably elevate patient outcomes while fostering effective collaboration between pre-hospital services and emergency rooms.

Renewing its AHA training center accreditation emphasizes the authority's relentless pursuit of equipping emergency responders with exceptional skills. It continues to provide specialized training programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), as well as first aid training. These educational initiatives are crafted to enhance the preparedness of healthcare workers and empower the community during emergencies.

Brigadier Salem Abdullah Bin Barak Al Dhaheri, the authority's Director General, characterized this achievement as a strategic landmark. He highlighted that this dual recognition underscores a robust dedication to embracing international best practices, enhancing integrated operations, and optimizing emergency response capabilities.

This accomplishment aligns with the authority's comprehensive vision to foster a state-of-the-art training ecosystem and fortify partnerships with prominent global organizations. It also builds upon previous achievements in ambulance services, including receiving the Canadian Diamond Accreditation, positioning Abu Dhabi at the forefront of healthcare excellence and public safety.

Furthermore, the authority continues to deliver accredited training options for healthcare professionals and the public via the TAMM platform. These programs are vital for enhancing emergency readiness, supporting national preparedness, and advancing Abu Dhabi's aspiration for a secure and sustainable society.
