Air India Express Restores Full West Asia Flight Network

Air India Express Restores Full West Asia Flight Network

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Air India Express has fully restored its flight operations across its West Asia network, bringing back services to Kuwait and Salalah after temporary disruptions. The airline has also resumed flights on key international routes, strengthening connectivity between India and the Gulf region.

The airline confirmed that flights between Kozhikode and Salalah resumed on July 2. Services between Kozhikode and Kuwait are scheduled to restart on July 3, while flights connecting Bengaluru and Kuwait will resume on July 4. Flight frequencies on these routes will gradually increase over the coming days.

Initially, the Kozhikode–Salalah service will operate twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday. The Kozhikode–Kuwait route will begin with one weekly flight from July 3 before expanding to three weekly services from July 5.

Similarly, flights between Bengaluru and Kuwait will start with one weekly service on July 4. From July 7, the airline will increase operations on the route to three flights every week. Air India Express also confirmed that all flights to and from Kuwait will operate from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport.

In addition to these services, the airline will restart flights between Muscat and Mangaluru from July 3. At present, Air India Express operates around 40 weekly flights from Muscat to seven destinations across India.

The airline had already started restoring services to its UAE destinations in April. It has also recently expanded its network by launching new routes, including Navi Mumbai–Abu Dhabi, Guwahati–Abu Dhabi, and Guwahati–Dubai, along with additional domestic and international flights.

The restoration of these services comes as airlines continue rebuilding schedules across the Middle East after regional airspace disruptions linked to the US-Israel-Iran conflict, which affected operations on several international routes.

With the return of flights to Salalah, Air India Express now operates from two airports in Oman—Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport.

West Asia remains one of the airline's most important international markets. Air India Express now serves 13 destinations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, operating around 780 weekly flights between India and the region. These services provide direct connectivity from 18 Indian cities.

Following the latest network expansion, Air India Express will operate around 415 weekly flights from Bengaluru, connecting passengers to 30 domestic and seven international destinations. From Kozhikode, the airline currently operates around 85 weekly flights, linking the city with 13 destinations across West Asia, along with services to Bengaluru.
