In a significant move towards sustainable industrial practices, the Ajman Chamber has announced the launch of the Eco Smart Industry initiative during a forum titled “Sustainability in the Industrial Sector.” This event aimed to promote best practices regarding resource conservation, optimizing consumption, and recycling, underlining the commitment to sustainable industrial advancement.
The forum gathered key figures including Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of Member Support Services Sector, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, and Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication, alongside representatives from over 20 local factories.
Mariam Al Nuaimi, who spearheads the initiative as the Initiative Manager and Head of Marketing, presented the details for factory involvement. She explained the registration procedure for the inaugural phase, environmental readiness requirements, and introduced tools to assess sustainability performance, energy consumption, and resource efficiency.
The objective of the initiative is to foster a collaborative platform that enables factories to share expertise, showcase successful practices in industry, and facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas. This, according to Al Nuaimi, would aid in crafting practical solutions and nurturing a culture that values efficiency and ongoing improvement.
Significantly, the forum served as the kickoff moment for factory registrations for the initiative’s first phase, signifying a heightened interest among industrial entities in embracing sustainable production techniques.
Participants showcased case studies illustrating enhancements in energy efficiency, optimal resource management, and emission reductions. These instances underscored the advantages of sustainable methods in boosting operational performance and reducing costs.
Delegates expressed that the forum provided a crucial platform for collaboration, creating avenues for partnerships and promoting knowledge sharing in the field of industrial sustainability and recycling.
