The Ajman Department of Municipality and Planning is enhancing its public health framework by increasing inspections, launching awareness initiatives, and utilizing smart monitoring systems, all aligned with the Ajman Vision 2030. The focus remains on promoting a healthy and secure community through advanced methodologies and skilled national resources.
Inspection Efforts Surpass 2,000
In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 2,153 inspections were executed by the Public Health Directorate. This total comprises 1,577 inspections in food outlets and 576 in healthcare institutions throughout the emirate, conducted under 60 structured inspection plans to ensure thorough execution.
Heightened Compliance and Training Initiatives
During this period, 1,369 food and health establishments recorded a high compliance rate, indicative of raised awareness and adherence to health protocols.
In conjunction with these inspections, a total of 37,104 training activities were organized for personnel in the food and health sectors, aimed at fostering a robust health culture and minimizing violations across establishments.
Innovative Systems Streamlining Inspections
Furthermore, the Ajman Municipality has adopted the “Raqeeb” smart system, which streamlines inspection activities. This system assists in scheduling visits, managing inspectors, optimizing routes, and digitally documenting field data, enhancing both transparency and consistency in inspections.
Boost in Pest Control Services
In public health pest control, a notable increase in service requests was recorded, totaling 4,433 in Q1 2026, a 13.65% rise from the previous year's 3,828 requests.
Total inspections and control operations also saw a significant jump, rising to 568,309 from 415,760 last year, reflecting a 26.84% increase.
786 Campaigns Undertaken
The department executed 786 field campaigns in various settings, such as residential areas, labor accommodations, and facilities. These efforts comprised awareness initiatives, rainy season prevention strategies, targeted control actions, and training for pest control companies.
The campaigns effectively reduced pest populations, enhanced response times, minimized health risks, and increased satisfaction levels across the emirate.
Cumulative Public Health Improvements
Officials confirmed that these collective measures have resulted in enhanced pest management, a reduction in health-related incidents, and improved emergency preparedness.
Encouraging Community Involvement
Ajman Municipality encourages residents to actively participate in public health efforts by reporting any issues via the Ajman Contact Centre at 80070, available 24/7. This engagement facilitates timely responses and fortifies community safety.
