The Ajman Transport Authority has announced a 5.6% surge in taxi rides during the first quarter of this year, underscoring a growing demand for public transportation within the emirate.
Recent statistics reveal that the total number of taxi rides reached 3,322,268, an increase from 3,146,769 trips recorded in the same quarter last year. This signifies an additional 175,499 journeys.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, the Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation, remarked that this uptick demonstrates a greater dependency on taxi services from both residents and visitors. He pointed out the ongoing commitment to maintaining exemplary safety, operational efficiency, and service standards.
Al Jallaf also mentioned that Ajman's taxi fleet comprises modern vehicles that adhere to stringent safety protocols, assuring passengers a comfortable and reliable travel experience.
Furthermore, he emphasized the significant role that taxis play in Ajman's transportation network, offering flexible mobility solutions to address daily travel needs.
The Authority continues its dedication to enhancing services through fleet upgrades and the implementation of modern technologies, aiming to improve traffic fluidity and overall quality of life for Ajman's residents.
