Al Ain Youth Council, in partnership with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), organised an event titled “Youth Opportunities in Emirati Diplomacy” at Sultan Fort, Al Ain Museum. The initiative aims to empower youth, raise awareness about diplomatic careers, and strengthen their connection to UAE heritage and values.
The programme included an interactive dialogue session with His Excellency Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director General of AGDA, and Dr Khawla Al Marri, Head of Education and Community Partnerships at Al Ain Museum. The session was moderated by Hazaa Al Azeizi, member of Al Ain Youth Council.
The event combined knowledge-sharing, cultural insights, and practical learning outcomes. Dr Al Dhaheri highlighted the importance of Emirati youth representing the nation with respect, balance, and the values of tolerance that define UAE diplomacy. Dr Al Marri stressed how heritage and cultural diplomacy, through museums and tourism, help promote the UAE’s global image and support diplomatic efforts.
Discussions focused on the role of diplomacy in advancing national interests, opportunities for youth to engage in diplomatic work, challenges faced by young diplomats, and the complementary role of tourism and heritage in enhancing the UAE’s reputation worldwide.
Participants also explored diplomatic artifacts and historical exhibits at Al Ain Museum, gaining deeper insights into the UAE’s diplomatic journey and international relations.
During the event, Al Ain Youth Council and AGDA announced a collaboration to deliver a diplomatic training programme in Al Ain, including seats dedicated to regional youth and an open invitation to participate in AGDA’s programmes.
Musallem Hmoud Alderei, Chairman of Al Ain Youth Council, said the partnership opens new horizons for young people to enter the diplomatic field, gain specialised skills, and represent the UAE with professionalism.
This initiative is part of Al Ain Youth Council’s broader efforts to prepare a skilled, knowledgeable generation capable of contributing to the UAE’s growth and strengthening its regional and international presence, in line with the nation’s vision of investing in youth and building future leaders.
