Heavy Rain Triggers Wadi Overflow, Traffic Disruptions in Al Buraimi

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Al Buraimi Governorate experienced rainfall of varying intensity on Tuesday, leading to the flow of several wadis and disrupting traffic on a number of roads.

The heaviest rainfall, accompanied by hail, was recorded in the areas of Al Rawdah, Al Juwaif, Al Khadra, and Al Khatwa in the Wilayat of Mahdah. The weather conditions caused Wadi Al Khatwa and Wadi Al Juwaif to overflow, resulting in traffic disruptions along the Mahdah-Humaidah road.

Wadis Overflow After Heavy Rain

The overflowing wadis affected vehicle movement in parts of Mahdah, with traffic slowed on the Mahdah-Humaidah route as water flowed across the area.

Authorities reported that the rainfall led to the movement of water through Wadi Al Khatwa and Wadi Al Juwaif following the heavy downpour and hail.

Rainfall Also Affects Wilayat of Al Buraimi

In the Wilayat of Al Buraimi, heavy rainfall also caused Wadi Al Harim and Wadi Sukudi to flow.

The rainfall across the governorate resulted in increased water levels in several wadis, affecting road conditions in different locations on Tuesday.
