Bahrain Enhances Tourism Landscape with Hawar Resort Project

Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Bahrain's Minister of Tourism and head of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), met with Dennis de Groot, General Manager of the Hawar Resort by Mantis, along with Ilhan Anil in attendance.

In their discussions, Minister Al Sairafi emphasized the critical role of significant tourism projects in advancing Bahrain's tourism sector while enhancing sustainable tourism offerings. She remarked that the Hawar Resort is pivotal in establishing Bahrain as a premier island tourism destination according to the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.

The minister pointed out that waterfront spots and marine tourism activities are vital components of Bahrain's tourism strategy, aimed at diversifying attractions and elevating the country’s allure for both regional and international visitors.

Various topics regarding the growth of Bahrain’s tourism sector were addressed, including how to elevate Bahrain’s tourism profile, explore partnerships in ecotourism and luxury hospitality, and enhance promotional efforts for Hawar Island, marking it as a key tourist spot.

Additionally, officials discussed strategies to strengthen the links between attractions on Hawar Island and Bahrain’s broader tourism sites, aiming to draw more visitors and ensure enduring growth in the tourism industry.
