On Tuesday, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, welcomed US Ambassador Michael Waltz at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH Prince Salman underscored the strengthening ties between Bahrain and the United States, with an emphasis on expanding collaboration across numerous sectors and shared interests.
The Crown Prince reaffirmed the intent to bolster the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the US, referencing existing agreements like the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA).
He also highlighted the crucial role of the United Nations in fostering international cooperation and collective action to tackle global issues. His appreciation for the collaboration involving Bahrain, the US, and allied nations under the UN framework was clear.
Furthermore, HRH Prince Salman spoke on the necessity of enhancing this cooperation to promote global security, stability, peace, and sustainable development.
Bahrain’s partnership with the US in addressing regional security challenges and countering Iranian threats was also emphasized by the Crown Prince. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the US and its allies in supporting peace and security in the region and beyond.
The agenda of the meeting included discussions on a variety of mutual interests and the potential for expanded cooperation, alongside current regional and international issues.
Attending the meeting were noted figures including HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court; Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; and Ambassador Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN.
