Brock Lesnar's Future Post-WrestleMania 42: Uncertainty Surrounds Retirement

Brock Lesnar's Future Post-WrestleMania 42: Uncertainty Surrounds Retirement

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Following a defeat to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar left behind his MMA gloves and boots in the ring, leading many to believe he might be retiring from professional wrestling. He shared an emotional moment as he hugged Paul Heyman and acknowledged the cheering crowd, suggesting a possible farewell.

However, reports cast doubt on any official retirement. According to Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer, WWE personnel do not entirely believe Lesnar has hung up his boots for good. Although retirement seems imminent, no definitive timeline has been provided.

Sources from Bodyslam indicate that only a limited number of WWE insiders knew Lesnar would leave his gear in the ring—most anticipated a formal retirement announcement later in the year, possibly during SummerSlam in Minneapolis. This led to surprise among WWE staff at the WrestleMania conclusion.

The following episode of Raw included a special video tribute to Lesnar’s storied career. Paul Heyman notably highlighted Lesnar’s impact, suggesting he deserves a place in WWE’s “Then. Now. Forever.” campaign, terming him one of the most intimidating wrestlers in WWE’s history.

Meltzer also revealed that Lesnar’s rivalry with Oba Femi was originally intended to be a series spanning multiple matches, but plans shifted prior to WrestleMania, resulting in a quick contest that saw Femi defeat Lesnar in just four minutes on Night Two.

As of now, there is ongoing speculation regarding Brock Lesnar’s future in WWE. Conflicting reports persist about whether his appearance at WrestleMania marked his exit from the ring for good.
