Thailand Launches Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40 Initiative Registration

Post by : Shakul

The Thai government has officially launched the registration process for the “Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40” economic stimulus initiative, calling on small and medium businesses to register by July 31, 2026.

This initiative intends to energize the local economy by enhancing consumer spending capabilities and providing support to businesses through a government-funded payment system.

As per the Prime Minister’s Office, there has been a robust response to the programme, with over 946,000 businesses already registered since it opened for applications on June 1.

As of June 3, statistics indicate that more than 848,000 established businesses and close to 97,000 startups have successfully enrolled, while over 130,000 applications are still pending approval and many others are under review.

Deputy government spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana stated that the scheme aims to assist restaurants, small shops, local vendors, and service providers in boosting sales and enhancing liquidity via digital transactions.

Customers can utilize the “Thung Ngern” application for payments, facilitating direct transactions with participating merchants, while the government subsidizes a portion of spending under the 60/40 cost-sharing model.

The spending period for this initiative spans from June 1 to September 30, 2026, with transaction operating hours set daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

To enroll, businesses need to have an account with Krung Thai Bank and register through the Krungthai Money Bag application platform, followed by submitting necessary documents and passing verification by the relevant authorities.

Upon approval, merchants will receive confirmation via SMS and will be officially cataloged in the system, enabling them to accept payments and monitor transactions through the digital interface.

Officials noted this programme is part of a wider strategy by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to enhance domestic consumption, aid small businesses, and circulate income within local communities.

Authorities have encouraged eligible businesses yet to register to complete their applications in time to gain advantages from the ongoing economic stimulus program and play a role in national recovery efforts.
