Spain has reported a new case of Hantavirus after a citizen tested positive while in preventive quarantine at a Madrid hospital, as stated by the Health Ministry.
The individual was identified as a close contact of someone connected to the previous outbreak. They are now receiving medical care and remain isolated at Gómez Ulla Hospital.
Health officials indicated that the patient was under preventive monitoring prior to the positive test result. Physicians are diligently observing their condition while adhering to all required safety protocols.
According to the Health Ministry, this case is associated with the earlier outbreak, and health teams are actively monitoring the situation to avoid further transmission.
Hantavirus is a rare viral illness primarily spread through contact with infected rodents or their waste. Further updates on the patient's status have not yet been provided by health authorities.
