In a devastating incident early Sunday morning, a multi-storey building in Angeles City, Pampanga province, collapsed, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving 17 others unaccounted for, as confirmed by officials on Monday.
The local Bureau of Fire Protection reported that rescue teams have managed to recover three bodies from the rubble. Additionally, one person residing in a nearby apartelle tragically lost their life due to falling debris from the collapse.
As of Sunday afternoon, at least 26 people have been rescued from the debris. This includes 24 individuals from the collapsed structure and two others from the affected nearby apartelle.
Among the survivors, 10 sustained injuries and have been treated at local hospitals.
Search and rescue efforts are actively underway as emergency personnel continue to seek out the missing individuals trapped beneath the wreckage.
An inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the cause behind this tragic building collapse.
