CENTCOM Strikes Iran for 12th Straight Night, Targets Military Sites

CENTCOM Strikes Iran for 12th Straight Night, Targets Military Sites

Post by : Bianca Haleem

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces completed another round of military strikes against Iran at 10:30 p.m. ET on July 22, marking the 12th consecutive night of operations.

Military Sites Across Iran Targeted

According to CENTCOM, the latest strikes were aimed at several Iranian military targets. These included maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets.

The military said the operation was intended to further reduce Iran's ability to carry out attacks against civilian mariners and commercial vessels operating in the region.

Operations Continue on Land and at Sea

CENTCOM stated that throughout this month, American forces have struck dozens of Iranian military sites on land. At the same time, U.S. forces have resumed a blockade against Iran at sea as part of their ongoing operations.

As of July 22, CENTCOM said it has redirected nine commercial vessels and disabled one vessel to stop ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports.

Thousands of U.S. Troops Remain on High Alert

CENTCOM said that more than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently deployed across the Middle East.

The command added that American forces remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready as operations continue across the region.
