Post by : Shakul

In a heartfelt ceremony in Thai Nguyen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang paid homage to the 60 young martyrs who lost their lives for Vietnam. This event marked the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the important milestone of National Reunification.

The solemn ceremony took place at the National Historical Monument dedicated to the young volunteers of Company 915, Team 91, Bac Thai. This significant site embodies courage and sacrifice, honoring those who perished during one of the country's most tumultuous times.

As part of the commemoration, the Deputy Prime Minister and his team laid wreaths and offered incense, expressing profound appreciation for the young heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation in wartime.

The tragic events of December 24, 1972, set the stage for this memorial as 60 young volunteers were killed in a fierce bombing while ferrying essential supplies to support the southern front.

Their legacy serves as a testament to bravery and commitment, with many having had their dreams and hopes tragically cut short. Their dedication significantly aided the national struggle for independence and unity.

This historical site has grown into a national monument, officially recognized and honored with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, emphasizing its critical role in Vietnam's cultural and historical narrative.

Today, the monument attracts numerous visitors and students eager to learn about the nation's history, acting as a crucial site for education and remembrance of the sacrifices that ensured national freedom.

Officials stressed the necessity of preserving these historical landmarks to educate younger generations. They emphasized understanding the past is vital for strengthening and uniting the nation.

The visit concluded with heartfelt respect and a pledge to uphold the values of patriotism and sacrifice, emphasizing the lasting legacy of those who gave everything for their country.
