The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) recently wrapped up its inaugural “Where Life Pulses” event, which took place from April 10 to 12, 2026, at Al Aamerah Park in Al Ain.
More than 22,000 participants joined in over the three days, showcasing the event's significance in promoting community engagement and fostering social ties. Designed to unite residents, the initiative offered inclusive activities suitable for all ages.
A standout aspect of the event was the enthusiastic involvement of children and budding entrepreneurs from local areas. Supported by their families, these participants undertook small projects, gaining valuable experience that nurtured self-confidence and entrepreneurial insight.
The event boasted a variety of offerings, including eight educational workshops, five community games, and six food trucks, creating a lively atmosphere that promoted cooperation, creativity, and a collective spirit among participants.
Mohammed Hilal Al Balooshi, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Social Empowerment Sector at DCD, remarked that the programme highlights innovative strategies for enhancing social cohesion and empowering youth within their communities. He emphasized the pivotal role families play in fostering children's growth and reinforcing community values.
Similarly, Fatema Abdulrahman Al Hosani, Director of the Social Cohesion Sector at DCD, mentioned that the initiative provides young individuals with tangible opportunities to dive into entrepreneurship and active community involvement, while also solidifying families as essential contributors to community development.
Part of DCD’s broader mission, the “Where Life Pulses” initiative aims to convert public spaces into thriving community centers that encourage creativity, elevate quality of life, and enhance social connections.
This initiative was executed thanks to collaboration with significant partners, including the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, which provided support for the venue, outreach, participation, and funding.
