In a cinematic landscape saturated with new releases, Dhurandhar has impressively maintained its box office momentum, showcasing its significant allure and durability. After 39 days since its launch, the film has attracted massive audiences throughout India, achieving a stunning domestic box office total of Rs 860.10 crore.
Recent stats indicate that even on its sixth Monday, Dhurandhar recorded a remarkable Rs 2.70 crore — a notable feat for weekday box office sales, which typically dwindle during weekdays. This consistent performance is evident in its weekly totals: it started strong with Rs 218 crore in its first week, followed by an impressive Rs 261.5 crore in the second week, Rs 189.3 crore in the third, Rs 115.7 crore in the fourth, and Rs 56.35 crore in the fifth week.
Film industry insiders suggest that Dhurandhar continues to capture the attention of cinemagoers even as it enters its sixth week, aided by strategic discounted tickets and favorable reviews from viewers. The film’s weekday collections are almost unprecedented recently, highlighting the deep connection it has developed with its audience.
Featuring Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar is inspired by actual events but follows a fictional hero who bears resemblance to Major Mohit Sharma, a valiant soldier of India. It presents intricate socio-political themes and ethnic complexities within Pakistan, delivering a riveting narrative rich with action and patriotism. Directed by Aditya Dhar, celebrated for Uri: The Surgical Strike, this film marks a powerful comeback, establishing a distinctive cinematic language focused on intense nationalism and realistic storytelling.
This enduring box office triumph, coupled with its gripping narrative and stellar performances, solidifies Dhurandhar as one of the year's standout blockbusters. Audiences persist in flocking to cinemas, reinforcing that the film’s impactful message and execution resonate profoundly on a weekly basis.
