Dog Believed to Circle Hanuman Idol for 36 Hours in Bijnor

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh — A viral video from Nagina, Bijnor, shows a dog persistently circling a Hanuman idol for almost 36 hours, taking only short breaks to rest. Devotees flocked to the scene, calling the occurrence a “chamatkar” (miracle).

The post claimed: “In Nagina, Bijnor, a dog has been circling a Hanuman idol for the last 36 hours. A large crowd has gathered to observe this ‘miraculous’ phenomenon.”

The video quickly drew interest on social media, garnering thousands of shares and views. Reactions from online users were split; some viewed it as a spiritual sign, while others raised concerns for the dog's well-being. Warnings included, “The dog might have rabies” and “It may be suffering from a neurological issue.” Many called for veterinarians or animal welfare organizations to step in.

Veterinary professionals and AI platforms like Grok highlighted that such repetitive actions in dogs could signify health problems. One possible issue is Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS), akin to Alzheimer’s in humans, affecting older dogs and leading to unusual behaviors like circling or pacing. Other factors could involve vestibular disease, discomfort, or rabies. Experts stressed the necessity of a veterinary evaluation before any conclusions.

This incident underscores how quickly crowds form around extraordinary events. While some view it as divine involvement, experts highlight that the animal's health must remain the priority, advocating for professional medical attention.
