Dubai:
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, met with a group of prominent Kuwaiti businessmen participating in the UAE-Kuwait Economic Forum held in Dubai.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The interaction took place on the sidelines of the preparatory day for the World Governments Summit 2026.
The forum was organised as part of the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ week, an initiative celebrating the deep-rooted historical, social, and economic ties between the UAE and the State of Kuwait.
Prominent Kuwaiti Business Families Present
The meeting included representatives from leading Kuwaiti business families such as Al Osaimi, Al Roudhan, Al Razouqi, Al Bahar, Al Kharafi, Al Rifai, Al Hasawi, Al Sayer, Bukhamseen, and Alshaya.
Discussions focused on the long-standing cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the early role played by Kuwaiti traders and investors in supporting the UAE’s economic growth before and after the formation of the Union.
Historic Partnership and Shared Success
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasised that UAE-Kuwait relations represent a unique model of brotherly ties built on trust, shared history, and mutual respect.
He noted that Kuwaiti businessmen have been partners in the UAE’s development journey from the very beginning, contributing knowledge, expertise, and unwavering support across generations.
“Our celebration of the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ week reflects our gratitude and appreciation for Kuwait’s continued support and partnership,” His Highness said. “It symbolises a strong bond rooted in trust, shared destiny, and a proud common history.”
Trade as a Bridge Between Nations
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the role of trade as a bridge connecting Gulf societies, stating that Kuwaiti merchants were among the first to actively participate in UAE markets, not just as business partners but as lifelong friends.
He praised Kuwaiti investors who chose the UAE as a base for their businesses, adding that their success reflects the UAE’s open and investor-friendly economic environment.
Enduring Brotherhood
Concluding the meeting, His Highness reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Kuwait, stating that the partnership will continue to grow and renew across generations.
