The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has officially released the Eid Al Adha prayer timings throughout the UAE. On Wednesday morning, worshippers will gather in mosques and designated prayer areas to celebrate this significant Islamic event.
As per the announcement, Eid prayers in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman are scheduled to commence at 5:45am. In Abu Dhabi, the prayers will start at 5:51am. Worshippers in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah will begin their prayers at 5:43am, while Umm Al Quwain will kick off at 5:44am.
The authority has indicated that timings might have slight variations due to the approved prayer calendar and geographical considerations.
Eid Al Adha prayers are performed shortly after sunrise in congregation. The service includes two units (rakats) led by an imam, followed by a sermon that underscores the spiritual essence of Eid, focusing on themes such as sacrifice, compassion, and gratitude.
Typically, the morning begins with takbeerat, phrases revering God, before exchanging Eid greetings and enjoying family time.
This year’s Eid sermon in UAE mosques will revolve around the theme “Our Eid is Truthfulness and Sacrifice.” This sermon aims to highlight values like sincerity, sacrifice, compassion, solidarity, and societal unity.
Additionally, it encourages strengthening of family bonds over the Eid festivities while promoting tolerance, generosity, and mutual care in the community.
