Emergency Abort of Swiss Flight in Delhi Due to Engine Fire

Post by : Shakul

An alarming incident occurred at Indira Gandhi International Airport when a Swiss International Air Lines flight was forced to abort its takeoff because of an engine fire. The flight was en route from New Delhi to Zurich and had just started its acceleration on the runway when the situation escalated.

Preliminary reports indicate that fire erupted in one of the aircraft's engines during the takeoff maneuver. The flight crew acted swiftly upon noticing the issue, halting the takeoff and avoiding a potentially disastrous event. The pilot successfully executed emergency protocols, bringing the aircraft to a safe standstill on the runway.

In the aftermath, emergency evacuation procedures were promptly initiated. Passengers were efficiently guided out of the aircraft. Fire and rescue teams from the airport responded swiftly, managing the incident and ensuring the safety of all involved.

Reports indicate that at least six passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation, primarily due to panic amid the urgency. Medical assistance was readily available on-site, ensuring that the injured were treated appropriately.

An investigation has been initiated by authorities to ascertain the reasons behind the engine failure and subsequent fire. Technical specialists are expected to conduct a thorough examination of the aircraft to determine if mechanical failures, maintenance issues, or operational factors were at play.

Though airport operations faced brief disruption for safety evaluations, officials confirmed that normal operations resumed shortly thereafter once the situation was under control.

This incident underscores the critical need for rigorous safety measures in aviation. Experts emphasize that the prompt response of the flight crew and emergency services was vital in averting a more severe incident and safeguarding all passengers aboard.
