Emirates SkyCargo is enhancing its digital capabilities by partnering with Pelicargo, a prominent online air freight booking service. This strategic alliance marks Emirates SkyCargo as the first cargo airline in the Middle East to establish API integration with Pelicargo, enabling instant online bookings for clients.
The initiative is designed to bolster digital access for freight forwarders and cargo clients, particularly within the rapidly growing U.S. market for online booking options.
As noted by Emirates SkyCargo, there is a notable trend among U.S. customers transitioning from traditional cargo booking methods to digital solutions, including eSkyCargo and related platforms. The integration with Pelicargo will broaden access to Emirates SkyCargo’s services for a larger customer base in the region.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, stated that digital solutions have significantly enhanced operational efficiency by facilitating faster information flow and more seamless booking experiences. He emphasized that the Pelicargo collaboration represents a vital step in fortifying relationships with both new and existing clientele in the U.S.
Abbas also mentioned that digital transformation will remain central to Emirates SkyCargo's growth plans, allowing the company to offer more adaptable and effective cargo solutions globally.
Jon Acquaviva, Co-Founder and President of Pelicargo, commented that the partnership showcases a mutual vision to enhance customer experiences via digitally connected cargo services. He expressed confidence that this collaboration would enable freight clients to engage with Emirates SkyCargo’s expansive network more expeditiously and effectively.
Emirates SkyCargo is now making its five core cargo offerings available through Pelicargo, including Fresh and Fresh Breathe for perishable items, Pharma for temperature-sensitive medical shipments, Airfreight Priority for urgent deliveries, and AirFreight services for general freight.
Pelicargo now joins other digital marketplaces like cargo.one, CargoAi, and WebCargo in providing Emirates SkyCargo booking capabilities. These platforms allow clients to access flight schedules, tariff and contract rates, real-time cargo space availability, and round-the-clock instant booking options.
