The Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris is showcasing more than high-level competition, with a Saudi Press Agency image capturing three generations playing games together during the tournament.
The moment was documented alongside the ongoing competitions at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, highlighting how esports can bring people of different ages together through a shared interest in gaming.
The tournament began in Paris and is running for seven weeks until August 23. It features more than 2,000 players from over 200 clubs representing 100 countries, competing across 24 games.
The image of three generations playing side by side reflects the growing reach of gaming beyond professional players and dedicated esports audiences. Family members from different age groups were shown taking part in the gaming experience together.
The tournament is offering total prize money of more than $75 million, while also providing an environment where gaming fans from different backgrounds can watch and participate in an event featuring leading players and clubs from around the world.
The Paris tournament features games across several major genres, including first-person shooters (FPS), multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBA), strategy, battle royale, fighting, racing and sports games, as well as chess.
With competitions taking place in Paris, the event demonstrates the international reach of esports and its growing role as both professional competition and entertainment for audiences of different ages.
Now in its fifth week, the tournament is preparing to crown champions in Honor of Kings, Tekken 8 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
At the same time, competitions in PUBG Mobile and Rainbow Six Siege are getting underway. The schedule combines individual and team-based competitions, bringing players and clubs from across the world onto the same stage.
The three-generation scene also highlights how gaming is being experienced across age groups. The tournament's audience includes people who engage with esports in different ways, from watching elite competitions to sharing gaming moments with family members.
The Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris therefore offers a broader picture of gaming, showing how the activity can connect generations while remaining at the centre of a major international esports competition.
