Etihad and Tunisair Join Forces to Enhance Travel from Abu Dhabi to North Africa

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Etihad Airways and Tunisair have established a new codeshare agreement to enhance air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and North Africa, addressing the rising travel demand in the regions.

With this collaboration, travelers can book flights from Abu Dhabi to Tunis using either airline’s code on Etihad-operated flights. This setup allows for a simplified journey with one ticket, single check-in, and smooth baggage transfer to the final destination.

The codeshare encompasses Etihad's three weekly services on the Abu Dhabi–Tunis route, which initiated on November 1, 2025. These flights utilize the Airbus A321LR, featuring three classes: First, Business, and Economy.

Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves noted that this agreement significantly improves accessibility to Abu Dhabi for North African travelers, highlighting the emirate's growing appeal for business, leisure, and family visits.

Halima Ibrahim Khouaja, CEO of Tunisair, remarked that the partnership broadens travel options, integrating the Maghreb and African markets with the Gulf region, with Abu Dhabi identified as a crucial strategic hub for the airline.

Tunisair, which boasts over 75 years of service, links various destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways has over 40 global codeshare agreements, facilitating connections to more than 500 destinations around the globe.
