Unique Poetry Activation Unveiled at Zayed Museum by Experience Abu Dhabi

Post by : Bianca Haleem

On Thursday, 28 May, Experience Abu Dhabi is set to debut a remarkable poetry activation at the Zayed National Museum. This initiative, presented in both Arabic and English, promises an enriching cultural journey for attendees.

Participants are encouraged to engage in personal, intimate exchanges with poets. From these conversations, the poets will craft original pieces that capture the essence of the city, its vibrant populace, and their personal narratives. This initiative seeks to transform personal memories into resonant poetic creations.

Open to all—including UAE citizens, residents, and visitors—this program emphasizes the significance of each story and viewpoint, showcasing their potential to become art.

This activation is part of a broader festival, The Joy of Eid, hosted by the museum from 27 to 31 May. This five-day celebration encompasses storytelling, hospitality, music, poetry, and craftsmanship, delivering immersive cultural experiences in the museum's various public spaces.

Nassra Al Buainain, Director of Learning & Public Engagement at Zayed National Museum, expressed her views on the profound role of poetry within the UAE's cultural identity.

She noted that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan regarded poetry as a cornerstone of leadership and national culture. This activation, which fosters shared reflections through poetry in the museum, embodies his legacy and the enduring poetic tradition of the UAE.
