Fire Erupts in Tirana Tower: Seven Treated for Smoke Inhalation

A significant fire incident unfolded in a 12-storey residential tower in Tirana, sparking chaos and prompting a rapid emergency response.

Preliminary information indicates that the flames ignited on the lower floors, likely in a commercial section, quickly advancing upwards. Dark smoke and fire filled various areas of the building, complicating the evacuation process.

Residents Flee as Flames Spread

Emergency teams, comprising firefighters and police, swiftly responded and began evacuating individuals from the structure. Many residents had to escape quickly as smoke enveloped the corridors and stairwells.

Rescue personnel operated under challenging conditions to ensure the safe removal of those trapped inside.

Seven Persons Affected by Smoke

At least seven individuals were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. Fortunately, officials reported no fatalities thus far.

Firefighters Manage to Control the Situation

Firefighters fought the blaze for several hours before successfully controlling it. The fire caused significant destruction to various floors of the building.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities are conducting an inquiry to establish the precise cause of this fire. Initial assessments suggest it started from the lower levels, but confirmation is still pending.
