The Emirates Environmental Group recently held its 29th Annual Corporate Gala Dinner in Dubai, honoring 52 organizations for their commendable efforts in sustainability and environmental protection. This prestigious gathering drew diplomats, business leaders, policymakers, and proponents of environmental sustainability, further solidifying the UAE's dedication to sustainable progress.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Salim Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the event underscored the significance of resilient and responsible leadership in light of ongoing regional challenges. Speakers at the gala reiterated that sustainability serves as a foundational element for long-term stability, economic diversification, and environmental stewardship in the area.
Dr. Nawal Al Hosany, the keynote speaker, emphasized the UAE's prominent role in global climate initiatives and clean energy advancements. EEG Chairperson Dr. Habiba Al Mar'ashi articulated that sustainability has transitioned into a strategic imperative, now entrenched within governance frameworks, economic strategies, and social accountability.
In 2025, EEG recorded notable achievements through nationwide initiatives, involving over 738,000 students and diverting more than 1.7 million kilograms of waste from landfills. Additionally, the organization successfully planted upwards of 14,000 trees and mobilized a multitude of volunteers for environmental campaigns. The event showcased the increasing involvement of both the public and private sectors in achieving tangible sustainability results.
