Gaza City Faces Deadliest Strikes as Thousands Flee

The situation in Gaza City is getting worse. Israeli forces are bombing the area with what many are calling the strongest attacks so far. The bombing is so heavy that thousands of Palestinians are running away from their homes.

Many people are now homeless, scared, and unsure where to go. Some have walked many kilometers on foot, with no food, water, or help. The United Nations (UN) and aid groups are warning that this could become an even bigger disaster if the attacks and suffering continue.

What’s Happening in Gaza City?

Gaza City, the largest city in the Gaza Strip, is now almost empty. It used to be home to about one million people. Now, over 450,000 people have left the city in the last month because of constant airstrikes and gunfire. Israel says it is attacking to stop Hamas fighters hiding in the city. But most of the people hurt or killed are civilians — including women and children.

Bombs are falling on homes, markets, and even hospitals. People say the bombing is non-stop and stronger than ever before.

No Food, No Fuel, No Medicine

Hospitals are in big trouble. The Gaza Health Ministry says that over 440 people, including children, have died from hunger or lack of medicine. Fuel is running out, and without fuel, hospitals can’t run machines or lights. Doctors can’t help sick or injured people. In one case, a 9-year-old girl died from hunger in a hospital. The doctors said they couldn’t help because there was no food or power.

Some hospitals have completely shut down. They don’t have medicine, fuel, or even clean water. There’s no electricity to keep machines running, and ambulances can’t move without fuel.

A few aid trucks are trying to bring supplies into Gaza, but not enough. The UN says it is not able to deliver the help people need because of the bombing and roadblocks.

Many Die in Airstrikes

On Friday, at least 43 Palestinians died from Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip. 26 of them were in Gaza City. Some of the attacks hit homes in Tal al-Hawa, a neighborhood in the west of the city. Other bombs hit people trying to get help in the south. The Palestinian Civil Defence says they are still pulling dead bodies from under the rubble.

The health system is close to breaking. The UN warns that more people may die from disease and hunger than from bombs if aid doesn’t arrive soon.

UN and Aid Groups Call for Help

The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, said what’s happening in Gaza City is one of the worst humanitarian disasters he has ever seen. He said people are starving, injured, and scared. He asked for a ceasefire and for humanitarian aid to be allowed in. Other aid groups are also asking for help.
