The United Arab Emirates continues to establish itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), leveraging advanced national strategies to integrate the latest technologies across multiple sectors. This focus has strengthened the country’s position on the world stage, enhancing its competitiveness in modern technologies and innovation.
G42 Drives AI Development
The G42 Group and its subsidiaries have played a key role in this progress by developing smart and innovative solutions during the first half of 2025. Their work has enhanced the UAE’s technological capabilities, enabling local AI development while supporting sustainability initiatives. The companies operate across a range of sectors, including healthcare, energy, cybersecurity, culture, education, and digital services, reflecting the UAE’s rapid adoption of AI technologies.
Cybersecurity and Digital Sovereignty
Hadi Anwar, CEO of CBX, highlighted that achieving digital sovereignty requires robust cybersecurity. CBX has integrated AI-powered cybersecurity into its "Intelligence Network," focusing on prevention, detection, and response. The company launched automated threat detection and sovereign data protection services to support governments and major institutions, ensuring secure and reliable digital operations.
Smart AI Models for Enterprises
Ashish Koshy, CEO of Inception, shared that the company leads the development of Agentic AI and has created specialized models for sectors like energy and climate. Key innovations include (In) ExecEdge, an AI platform for executives to manage meetings and analyses, and (In)Business Procurement, which increases operational efficiency by 40% and reduces costs by 10%.
Sovereign Computing and Global Expansion
Kiril Evtimov, CEO of Core42, confirmed the company’s growing international presence through partnerships in Europe, including collaborations with AMD, Oréus, and iGenius. These efforts support sovereign AI infrastructure and enable countries to fully utilize AI technologies. A sovereign cloud established with Microsoft and the Government Empowerment Department handles over 11 million daily interactions, aiming for full government reliance on AI by 2027.
AI in Energy Sector
Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, highlighted AI integration in energy systems, resulting in automation, higher productivity, and reduced emissions. The ENERGYai tool, tested over 90 days, increased seismic interpretation speed tenfold and improved accuracy by 70%. ADNOC awarded AIQ a three-year AED 340 million contract to deploy ENERGYai across upstream operations.
Cultural and Technological Innovation
Analog contributed to cultural innovation by integrating robotic fleets and digital twin models into key infrastructure. In partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), 10,000 drones were used in an immersive light show initiative, creating Abu Dhabi as a global hub for large-scale technological cultural performances.
AI for Social Impact
Astra Tech, a leading consumer technology holding in the MENA region, utilizes the Botim Ultra platform to facilitate fast, secure digital donations, reaching over 150 million users globally. This initiative promotes social impact, inclusivity, and financial accessibility, reflecting G42’s strategy to integrate AI into everyday life.
Extending AI Across Sectors
G42’s broader strategy aims to expand sovereign AI from core infrastructure to consumer-facing applications. This integration enhances efficiency, boosts sustainability, and brings intelligence into daily operations, positioning the UAE as a global AI leader while demonstrating the practical value of artificial intelligence across sectors.
