H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), warmly welcomed students returning from their academic exchanges abroad. These students participated in the “Study Abroad” programme, organised jointly by the University of Sharjah and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Celebrating Academic Achievements

H.H. Sheikh Sultan congratulated the students for completing their scholarships and returning home enriched with knowledge and international experience. He praised their dedication to enhancing their academic and research skills, noting that these students now serve as ambassadors for both the University of Sharjah and the UAE.

Students as Ambassadors of Knowledge

The Deputy Ruler emphasised that returning students carry a responsibility to uphold the highest academic and ethical standards. Their experiences abroad allow them to share knowledge, foster partnerships, and strengthen international academic networks, contributing positively to the reputation of UAE higher education.

Strengthening Research and Higher Education

H.H. Sheikh Sultan highlighted that the programme supports students in gaining advanced scientific and research skills, while promoting collaboration with leading international universities. These exchanges help in advancing higher education, fostering innovation, and building a globally competitive academic environment in the UAE.

Cultural Exchange and Global Exposure

The students not only gained academic knowledge but also immersed themselves in international cultures, sharing Emirati and Islamic values with global communities. Such experiences enrich students’ perspectives and prepare them to contribute to international academic and professional spheres while representing the UAE positively.

Sharing Experiences and Achievements

During the meeting, students shared their academic journeys, challenges, and accomplishments across various disciplines. They discussed how exposure to different teaching methods, research approaches, and cultural environments broadened their understanding and enhanced their problem-solving and leadership skills.

Promoting UAE Education on the Global Stage

H.H. Sheikh Sultan reaffirmed that programs like these highlight the UAE’s commitment to developing world-class students who can participate in global academia and research. He noted that these students’ contributions will help the UAE strengthen its international partnerships and achieve excellence in education and innovation.
